Mum's 60th

We have spent the past couple of weekends celebrating my Mum's 60th birthday. Last Saturday night we had a big party in her village hall with about 90 guests. Along with my brother and Mum and friends, Joe and I chipped in by cooking food and putting together some decorations for the hall and a quiz as a bit of an ice-breaker for the guests.

It was a huge success and everyone seemed to have a great time. Rob, Jane and I served up baked potatoes and chilli from the kitchen which was hectic but fun. Mum hired a really good live band which played lots of covers from the 60s to the noughties, and my brother did a very good speech for her. Joe read out the answers for the quiz and did a great compare job in true Croser wit :) After the cake came out we all sang 'Sweet Caroline' by Neil Diamond, the family stood around her at the front and sang and danced in front of the other guests who joined in for the chorus. It was all great fun!

Yesterday we had a family party at a lovely restaurant, aptly named 'The Grey Lady' (Grey is my maiden name). My Granny (Mum's Mum), Aunt & Uncle, cousins and brother and his family were there, as well as Mum and her lovely partner Sue. The meal was delicious and we all got to catch up with each other on our big table. Harry and Lucy enjoyed swapping toys and books and colouring together :) I made Mum a big cake in the shape of a '6' and a '0' (one chocolate and one lemon) which went down well despite the fact that we were already full to the brim with Sunday lunch! Altogether it was a lovely day.

Happy Birthday Mum! x

As usual I lost track of taking pics early on and didn't take on of the cake or of other family members. Oops! I will get some from Mum and my Aunt as I am sure they have a bigger selection.
