Joe and I have some hilarious and heartwarming conversations with Lucy. Here are some more recent ones that we thought were worth sharing...
December 2009
LUCY "Thank you my blueberries Mummy"
MUMMY "That's ok Lucy"
LUCY "Thank you my lunch Mummy. It's yummy. You're so kind Mummy."
When we visited a preschool recently for a look around -
LUCY (playing with children in the 3 year old preschool classroom, she said to them all...) "I would like to go to school one day."
LUCY "We're going on holiday tonight!" (over and over again...???) Not sure why, we weren't going anywhere!
January 2010
Sings the entrance song from the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack endlessly, often in bed when getting to sleep -
"Little town, it's a quiet village
Every day, like the one before!
Little town, full of little people,
waking up to say....
Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour! Bonjour!"
She sings as close to the melody as she can manage and does it over and over again. So sweet!
Is still telling everybody she meets about the monster from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer film. And now if Joe and I growl like a lion or say anything loudly to her in a game, she says "There's no monsters Mummy/Daddy, there's no monsters. Don't want you say grrrr Mama, don't want you say grrrr!"
A regular one is "I want to do it myself". My favourite (cough, cough)
And she's great with her manners generally. Please and thank you are common. Also, when we left the bank today she said to all the bank tellers "Bye ladies! Bye man! See you soon! Thank you very much!"
My favourite - "I love you too Mama/Daddy" (said even if we don't say it first).
