This week has been a bit rough at times as Lucy hasn't been herself at all. Very irritable and not eating much. I was convinced it was post-trip tiredness and getting used to being in a quiet house again. Butlast night Joe's instincts kicked in and insisted we take her to the doctor this morning. A rash on her neck that we previously thought was prickly heat had spread over her body by this morning.
Sure enough the docotor visit told us that Lucy has a virus. That explains A LOT. I had feared that she was facing two years old and that I had a toddler and a half to reckon with for the next few years. After two days of tantrums and moodiness that I have rarely seen from her, I was all but ready to check myself into the asylum! I am now pretty sure that the virus is the cause and that she is going to improve in many ways over the next few days. Luckily the contagious stage is well over by now. We didn't see friends at the weekend when the doctor said it would have beenicky to be near her, so only unfortunate park-goers are likely to pick up the germs Lucy left behind at the weekend.
Labor Day weekend ahead (bank holiday on Monday to you Brits), so Joe has three days off :) We plan on relaxing, gardening, car shopping (my lease is almost up), going to a 3-year old's party tomorrow and seeing old neighbours on Sunday for dinner.
I have caught up around the house and the damp and mouldy basement that we were faced with when we got home at the weekend has dried out nicely already. Thanks to a great big de-humidifier. We're busy getting estimates for our new deck and patio plans, and I am bursting with ideas for the garden as usual.
Have a good weekend all!
