My Grandpa Peter turned the grand old age of 95 years old yesterday. When we were back in England in August I visited him and his wife Liza and introduced them to Lucy for the first time. Grandpa has been saying for many years (like at least 20!) that he wouldn't last much longer....but here he is at 95 still going.
He and Liza live in a tiny village called Fring in north Norfolk, east England, near the sea. It's a beautiful area of the country, surrounded by picture book flint and brick cottages and rolling farmland, much of which is owned by the Crown. Sandringham House (the Queen's winter residence) is very close to Fring.
As you can see in the video posted below, Grandpa is quite frail these days and his hearing isn't what it used to be. But he enjoys his quiet life and is looked after really well by Liza who is in her 80s herself (and has more energy than me a lot of the time!). Grandpa found it difficult to hear and work out Lucy's toddler language but they had a lovely time together none-the-less.
