This Memorial Day weekend we went to Cape May, New Jersey, for three days and had a really lovely time. Mum is here staying with us (arrived last Wednesday and staying until Friday this week), so the trip was in honour of her being here.Cape May is a Victorian seaside town which was the first beach resort in America and is full of big Victorian houses, quaint shopping streets and a pretty sandy beach. The weather was stunning every day.
Mum enjoys birdwatching so we went on some trails around the estuary where there are many wetland birds. She has got the bug and loved the area, so will be back over for a longer visit down there.
Lucy had a blast on the beach in the ocean and learnt all about ships and boats.We'll definitely go back again as it is such a nice seaside town - quite English and not too commercialised.
