'Mama, I wanna be like you-oo-oo'

Lucy is definitely in a 'I want to do things like Mummy' phase at the moment. Not only does she want to be with me a lot (smile), she is also trying out Mummy's shoes for size, she wants to cook when I get dinner ready and she is very fond of shopping with me, then putting the groceries away.

Today we nipped out for some juice and a few things (and came back with 4 times as much as I had on my list, as per usual), and she was so excited. I tell her what we are going to buy and she keeps telling me around the store until we have it in the trolley/cart. Sometimes she likes to check out some of the more interesting items before they get into the trolley, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on what the item is!

Lucy loves the shopping trolley/cart and likes to ride in it, check out the other shoppers and especially likes the credit card machine at the counter. I got some praise today from the bagging guy because she was playing with a bag of sweets she had picked up from the display. When I asked her to put it back she did it straight away, of course in exactly the same neat way she had found it. I really hope that behaviour keeps up!

When we get home from the supermarket she likes to unpack everything for me. She even lifts the huge orange juice cartons from the bags and says 'heavy!'...muscle girl! It's a great thing to have something to occupy her while I put everything away, that is for sure.

Now as we use the things we bought in the shops she says 'shop'. She is getting the hang of being a woman already - we like to shop for things and keep thinking about shopping even when we're at home :)
