I have done some new planting and planning this year, but have plenty more that I want to do - some in the autumn and some next spring. Now that I know what is in the ground and where the sun is I have a better idea of what I want to change and improve.
The sunny bed to the right side of the house is doing really well. I wish we saw more of it! Dave and Margie next door see it more often then we do. Even so, it looks beautiful and I am delighted with the daisies that are in full bloom at the moment (great for cuttings to put in the house).
Lucy is enjoying the garden too. Her playhouse gets plenty of use. Each time she goes in it she says 'Mummy iside, Mummy iside!'. So I dutifully crouch inside while she runs in and out pretending to hide and then surprising me on her return. Her sand table is in regular use too and surprisingly little sand finds itself outside the box these days :)
We are having a tree taken down next week...it's virtually dead and very tall, bordering the lane at the back. So we feel it best to get it down before more large branches fall in our garden, or on the lane. Luckily we don't see it much from the house or the garden as it's so tall and there are few leaves on it. So only the beautifully sturdy trunk will be missed.
I'll be planning away my new garden projects between now and the autumn, and again over the winter. I saw some stunning gardens on the south side of town the other day while out walking, so tomorrow I will go and have another look for somemore inspiration.
Chrysanthemums, which I mived from various different places throughout the garden in spring
Daisies in bloom, as tall as the bird feeders!
