Spring weekend!

Our weekend saw the beginning of longer days over here as our clocks went forward on Saturday night. So we are now only 4 hours behind England and 5 hours behind France for the next couple of weeks.

We also had glorious warm weather and saw a glimpse of the spring that is just around the corner. Phew! Were we looking forward to this weather! Just being able to go outside and play with Lucy in the garden and at the front of the house, running up and down the pavement, is such a release after months of being couped up inside apart from the odd frigid trip to the park.

We walked into West Chester on Friday night for an early dinner choosing to avoid the microwave meals in the freezer (for the first time in I don't know how long, Joe got home from work by 4.45pm). On Saturday Joe and Lucy went to the park after music class and in the evening Joe and I walked into town for a friend's brithday party. Sunday we spent the morning at Longwood Gardens where we met up with friends - two families who have sons around the same age as Lucy. They all had such a great time in the children's garden, splashing about and running up and down the steps, painting the walls with the brushes provided, and getting soaking wet!

Lucy is a chatter box and a half, is almost running and is certainly walking with lots of confidence. She is quite a handful when she doesn't get her way at times, so that gets frustrating when some days I feel that I'm telling her not to do things a lot of the time. She's certainly strong-willed and likes to play with grown-up things rather than the many lovely toys she has! Part of the joy of playing outside for her is waving at everyone who walks past, arrives home or is in their garden. She boldly walks up steps and up to people's doors to try to get in and say hello. Ever the socialite.

We're due some cold weather yet, but this weekend has shown us what we have in store on the weather front...bring it on I say!
