Mum came over today and we took a walk around Wadenhoe village which is about 4 miles away from us. It is a beautiful village with a church on a hill which overlooks the local countryside. You can see five other church spires from the top including Aldwincle's two churches (Aldwincle is the pretty village where Lucy goes to preschool).
We tried sailing Lucy's boat on the river but the wind was up and the current strong, so we had to give up as it kept floating into the bank. Nevermind, we had fun exploring the old tree trunks full of nooks and crannies and walking down to the mill house. The sun wasn't shining but it was pretty mild and dry (bonus!), and the snowdrops were a welcome sign of spring wherever we walked.
