Autumn walk

Lucy and I took an autumn nature walk yesterday morning around our village. The weather is very true to the time of year at the moment - windy and blustery like winter is blowing in. But it's not cold and a walk in the trees and the leaves is really pleasant.

Lucy took her doll along and played an excellent Mum, regularly stopping to adjust the baby's blanket and soothe her with a stroke of her head or her hand :)

We found some blackberries in a hedgerow so went back later after preschool to pick some and bring home. I'm going to make one of my favourite autumn desserts with them - blackberry almond slice. Berry picking from hedgerows is a very popular thing to do in England. At the moment you see lots of people along lanes and in fields harvesting the fruit. And it's really in abundance this year.
