Highlights were -
a visit from our old next door neighbours from West Chester, Mary Kay and Bob. We toured them around our area (which we are lucky is a quintessentially English corner of the country!) and also took them to Cambridge for the day and to Burleigh House, a nearby Elizabethan estate....
Kings College, Cambridge (where the Christmas carol concert comes from each Christmas Eve)
Mary Kay and Bob outside Kings College Chapel
Courtyard of St John's College
Punting on the river Cam
Joe did the punting, bless him! He was well practised from his Oxford days
It was so nice to spend time with Mary Kay and Bob again and to show them around. Mary Kay had never been to England before, so it made it extra special. Lucy loved having them here of course and it was like old times.
We have also spent a few days here and there with Harry and my Mum over the summer break too. Mum has reduced her work hours right down to one a week (plus extra occasional cover for colleagues when needed), so she has had Harry to stay a bit. Lucy and Harry play really well together and we've found some good country parks and playgrounds to meet at, halfway between Kilsby and Barnwell.
On the giant swing at Sywell Country Park
AWWW!! Taking a walk around the reservoir
Granny, Lucy and Harry at the cafe/shop at Sywell
Lucy is back pre-school now and enjoying it very much. I will report back more soon!
