Playdate with Tess

This morning we had Tess over while her Mum had some time for herself. We met at the library and the girls had fun playing in the children's section with the computers and the books, plus a cool magnetic fishing toy that they have set up. We headed down to the classroom for story time which was excellent. The girls enjoyed the singing at the beginning, and then four really good stories....their favourite being Ten Little Fish. The story teller was a lovely rotund lady with a southern accent who really got all of the kids attention...well for the first half anyway! Tess and Lucy sat really well and payed attention for most of the time, despite lots of action and noise around them.

Afterwards we came home and played in the garden with Lucy's water table and cars. The weather is much cooler today - only 86 degrees rather than 103! - so it was actually possible to sit outside and enjoy it.

We all had lunch together and listened to a new nursery rhyme CD we got from the library. Then Joe (Tess's Dad) came to collect her for nap time.

A really nice morning that we all enjoyed. Lucy is very fond of Tess and enjoyed having her buddy to herself for a few hours. She likes to stroke Tess's hair and say 'she's lovely isn't she Mummy?" Lucy is a really loving little girl with her close friends, that's for sure! She shares pretty well these days, much better than a few months ago. She likes to talk about sharing before her friends even get here, so I think she gets the concept.

Lucy likes pulling funny faces for photos these days...
I think here she was supposed to be singing!
